It is difficult to summarise the incredible palette of production in this sector, both in terms of products and the types of land: apricots, peaches, nectarines, apples, table grapes, cherries, pears and kiwis are all produced across the whole region.
Seasonal products that are exported throughout the whole world but are also sold by village grocers : the fruits have only one thing in common - their flavour.
It is the same with vegetables: whilst asparagus is the principal product produced in the Gard (national leader!), melons, potatoes (produced around Montfrin in the lower Gardon valley), lettuces and courgettes (second nationally!) occupy as much place in the production as on the local market stalls. Several companies, especially in the fruit sector, have become national players.
