HISTORICAL HERITAGE
The Castle of Tornac XIth - XIIth century, overhangs the right bank of the Gardon d'Anduze at a strategic location which allowed it to protect the entrance to Anduze and the Cevennes. Its tower was used as a watchtower and a signal tower. It offers an exceptional panoramic view of Anduze and the vineyards of Tornac.

NATURAL HERITAGE
At the foot of the castle, on the Tornac side, is the hamlet of Trial, which was the place where sheep were sorted in the Middle Ages during transhumance.
The commune of TORNAC, obtained in 2022 the label TERRITOIRE BIO ENGAGE.
For 20 years, the TORNAC winegrowers have been committed to nature and are among the precursors, with more than 300 hectares of vines cultivated in organic farming.
This sensitivity allows the preservation of the quality of the soil, water and biodiversity on this territory. A beautiful diversity of birds finds refuge in this commune half vineyard, half forest.
It is very frequent to observe the broom of the variable buzzards above the vines in search of a small vole.
Free access, but bring good shoes to reach the castle.
