    From the square tower to the round tower, the castle illustrates the evolution of castles from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Under the protection of its ramparts, a fortified medieval village was established with a farm, a dovecote, a sheepfold and a chapel. Now renovated, this hamlet of Le Cheylard serves as it did in the past for the life of the castle.
