Alès has been carefully landscaped, which earned it the 4th flower “Cities and Villages in bloom” in 2008, renewed in 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2020. In 2020, the City of Alès is one of the 4 French municipalities awarded the trophy of the “Golden Flower”. This is the highest possible distinction that is awarded each year to a limited number of communes “4 Flowers” reaching a very high level in terms of flowering and enhancement of the living environment.
