Located in the town of Rousson (Gard - France), on the D 904, between Alès and St Ambroix, the Prehistorama hosts a permanent exhibition of popularization on Prehistory. This exhibition presents in a simple way reconstituted scenes on the life of our ancestors.
The characters and animals are made in life size.

The visit begins with the gallery of the great geological eras; this part is made up of a collection of fossils and aims to make understand the evolution of life before Prehistory.
Prehistory is the main part of the museum. The evolution of Man is detailed from the pre-humans (Toumaï and the famous Lucy) to the modern Man, thanks to reconstructions realized with a great scientific rigor (Gerassimov method).
A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to the local fauna of the last ice age, so visitors can see the reconstruction of the largest known mammoth, the woolly rhinoceros or the European bison....

It takes about one hour of free visit.
This museum is adapted to a large public.

A second permanent exhibition is dedicated to the fossil collection of Bruno GUY, president of the association "Les Amis du Préhistorama" to discover the richness of life on Earth.

A playroom for children with wooden puzzles, games for toddlers, coloring, stencils, excavation of a dino nest in the sand...
