Domaine de Berguerolles is a family-owned property located in St-Ambroix, north of Languedoc, in the Cévennes National Park.
After acquiring the Clos de Berguerolles in 1967, Robert Saint-Étienne was able to rebuild this magnificent vineyard to produce quality wines and began bottling on-site from 1974.
Today, thanks to its third generation, this magnificent family vineyard continues to thrive with its 22 grape varieties on 36 hectares of vines cultivated using organic farming methods.
Tradition and expression of terroir are the watchwords of this vineyard located on the banks of the Cèze river, in a meander that creates a microclimate protecting the vines from the climatic hazards of the Cévennes massif.
The Cévennes are located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif Central, with the IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) denomination surrounded by vineyards from the Rhône Valley to the northeast and Languedoc to the southwest. This wine region has a magnificent terroir, with its hills near the relief of the Cévennes creating a wide temperature range with cool nights even in summer. During the ripening period, this allows the grapes to develop their polyphenols, sources of aromas.
The average yield of the vines is 50 hl/ha (with a gradient from 20 hl/ha to 90 hl/ha).
