    HISTORICAL HERITAGE
The Clock Tower - XIIIth century - The village
Classified as a Historic Monument, the Clock Tower is one of the only important remains of the medieval ramparts of the village. It represents the southern door of the ramparts, which gives an access towards Sauve, Saint-Gilles and Montpellier. Its aspect was modified in the XVIIth century with an elevation and the installation of a mechanical clock. Inside the tower, the walls give up their secrets and many signatures are written everywhere on the walls... The oldest identified date is 1896.

    NATURAL PATIO
At the end of your walk, you will go along the vineyards of Lézan.
The winegrowers of Lézan and those of Massillargues-Attuech got together to create the cooperative cellar "Vignoble de la Porte des Cévennes" which federates a hundred cooperators.
The cellar works nearly 240 hectares of the Porte des Cévennes Vineyard in Organic Agriculture. In an approach of protection of the biodiversity, the cellar chose to register in the label "Bee Friendly" and sows melliferous seeds on its fallow lands, to feed the pollinating insects.
Bees, and pollinating insects in general, play a major role in agriculture and in maintaining biodiversity.

80% of the world's plant species depend on insect pollinators for their reproduction. They are essential for maintaining the balance of ecosystems. It is a priority today to protect them.
