Located between Anduze and St-Jean-du-Gard, in the Vallée de Mialet, the Grotte de Trabuc is a major cave for families to discover, on an interactive, scenographic and safe light trail that places visitors at the heart of an authentic natural environment.
The self-guided audioguided tour in low season and guided tour in summer, will transport you into the history and magic of this great natural site, which has been awarded the Esprit Parc National des Cévennes label. The interactivity of the lights and the discovery of the galleries and their mineral beauties, plunges the visitor into an underground world
underground world.

It's a living cave, where water tirelessly leaves its mark on the stone, trickling down draperies and cascades to the foot of the Lac de Minuit in a spectacular display of light and shadow. It's home to a mysterious phenomenon: an army of 100,000 soldiers at the foot of the Great Wall!

A formation unique in the world. Frequented at its natural entrance by Huguenots during the Wars of Religion, then by Trabucaires, highwaymen who used it as a hideout, it was only in 1945 that the upper network was discovered, and is now easily accessible.

Explore Trabuc's subterranean world through a variety of different experiences: old-fashioned with carbide lamps, by the light of thousands of candles at night, or with the magic of Christmas lights.

Each season has its own program, with themed tours to share in the authentic atmosphere of the epic of the first speleological discoveries and those of the developers, or simply to share a fantastic and poetic moment.
*The Double Visit: Rekindle the flame of the carbide lamps, and enjoy an old-fashioned descent.
Spectacular! Summer nocturnes: "The cave ignites" by the light of a thousand candles! An artistic and ephemeral illumination of the site.
*Enchanting! "The magic of Christmas lights" with the re-enchanted underground landscapes of Santa's cavern, to be enjoyed with children's eyes, in December.
*Historical or scientific, through Heritage Days and regular annual programs.
*For children, Easter egg hunts and Halloween candy hunts provide a fun way to discover the site.

Stroll through these preserved wonders, which make Grotte de Trabuc an essential part of your stay in the South of France. Labelled "Esprit Parc National des Cévennes", the Grotte de Trabuc is part of a responsible and sustainable development approach, taking into account the emerging health imperatives linked to the reception of the public, to ensure visitors' peace of mind as they enjoy the discoveries on offer.

Our aim is to do "Better rather than More", while reconciling economic viability, heritage protection and the development of the local economic fabric.
The site offers a human-scale welcome, and the customer's experience takes the form of a friendly encounter with the staff and guides, and an immersion as close as possible to the underground environment, which, through the sensory and emotional aspect of the experience, promotes awareness of the value of the environment and the interactions of human activity.

The originality of the site :
1- The diversity of decors sculpted by nature, the crystalline aspect, the colors of minerals and oxides, surprising underground volumes at every turn of the gallery.
2- A wonderful encounter with the living world and its "Aquatic" spaces, the clarity of the waters and the sound of the flows, the gush of waterfalls after the rains, the pools and lakes with their turquoise reflections.
3- The Hall of 100,000 Soldiers, a singular vision of a landscape that is unique in the world and still baffles the scientific community!
